Spirituality in Art
The ethos of the desert is present in my work.
The ethos of the desert is present in my work.
The spiritual nature of the desert is found in the land, water, and atmosphere. During my time in the studio, I work to create that spiritual nature in my work. An example is in a new assemblage of organic and geometrical forms cast with rare earth minerals. Light and color are embedded within each layer….

My work explores the unique interpretation of light and color. Like a prism bending light waves, I layer translucent resin with a palette of earth minerals. Light is stored. In the dark, light re-emits a spectrum of UV-type color. The sculpture’s surface captures the dance of illumination, shadow, and shape. As a result, this distinctive…

As a result, leaving the safe spaces of my life has enlarged my territory. I feel like I am called to explore, abandon the…

Our studio/home sits in the private Cinnabar Canyon in Sunnyslope. It overlooks the city lights of Phoenix and is surrounded by the natural desert of the Phoenix Mountain Preserve.
Our art is shaped and seasoned by our beautiful desert environment. Come and see. As cooler weather arrives, we will be hosting a series of small get-togethers with particular themes, such as an evening of Plein Air painting. Subscribe to learn more about these events.
