Soiree # 6
Invitation only private art-centric event in Sunnyslope, AZ
Soirees are art-centric events staged at our studio/home. Much like a gallery opening night, we showcase our latest work. However, we expanded our indoor and outdoor display areas. As a result, we have space for a group show. Soiree # 6 also featured digital artist Joey Melinda Morgan and sculptor Hector Ortega.
Our location is in a private 48-acre desert canyon that is part of the natural beauty of the Phoenix Mountain Preserve. We like to say that we feature Food-Fashion-Music and Art. Summer and fall have beautiful full moons rising over the mountain tops when we schedule the Soiree during those times.
Creating art-centric events in Slope.
The pandemic helped us re-discover our studio location. We focused on the ethos of the desert after realizing the influence the natural desert has produced in our life, and in our work. Now, the Soiree events have become how we share our new artwork. At the same time, we bring people together. We keep the events private and by invitation only. Invitations to events come by enrolling on my website. Our invitations are usually sent to practicing artists and their partners, neighbors and close friends. Soirees start at the golden hour, food and libation are part of it.
Invitation and RSVP required:
Soirees are centered around art-centric activities. As a consequence, art-centric people and professional creatives plus their partners are who attend. We focus on Food-Fashion-Music and Art woven into the event. It’s part art gallery opening with a tasting menu prepared by the creatives attending the event. The Fashion is our guest who attend. The art is both Sandra and Larry’s work but now distinguished artists are showing work in their expanded art “showing areas”. The areas include both inside and outside space. The music playlist trends to contemporary artists like Jungle, The Weekend, Tame Impala, Washed Out, and more. Guests have been adding to the playlist.
Soirees allow me to create art-centric events showcasing artists and their work. The beauty of Poetry will be a part of the next Soiree. We also will have the work of 3-5 additional artists displayed in our gallery setting and open the event to an Open Studio and Gallery Sale on the day after the Soiree as we did for Art Detour 34. The fall Soiree is scheduled for Saturday, Oct 22, and the Sale on Sunday, Oct 23.
