My latest sculpture begins as a cast of the desert’s own architecture: a 32-inch Century plant leaf and its Quiote stalk. These are not just remnants of a once-living form but blueprints of survival, shaped by sun, time, and the will to rise. When the Century plant blooms, it spends the last of its energy reaching for light. What’s left behind is both a monument and a message.
Light is never still. It moves through everything, searching for its way home.
And maybe that’s what I’m doing too—tracing those same trails, learning to see what the desert has always known.
