The spiritual nature of the desert is found in the land, water, and atmosphere. During my time in the studio, I work to create that spiritual nature in my work. An example is in a new assemblage of organic and geometrical forms cast with rare earth minerals. Light and color are embedded within each layer. There is a sense of movement, something moving in desert breezes. Light within Layers

The sensuality of light seduces the darkness, its presence creates a spiritual atmosphere. Sunsets provide a brief interlude between day and night. The strength of light and color emitting from my pieces in the dark last as long as a sunset, allowing for abundant time in conversation and alone with God. Light can approach with subtle strength, like a comet. Or subtle, like an answered prayer revealing the truth to your soul. Color stimulates our emotions; In my work, I use strong color intensity to provide mood in the darkness. Like a velvet journey, smooth like riding a desert zephyr. Color Theory

Light accumulates within an ethereal being waiting to be released as a dance during a desert evening. The form hovers effortlessly in the dark of the night, its light breaks through the darkness, gliding on a desert zephyr.
